I have possession of an AWA Magictape and stumbled across this post looking for more information about it in order to list it on eBay. Is this something you would be interested in or could point me in the direction of any groups who might be? Its so old I wasn’t even sure where to begin looking.
Hi,
I have an AWA 1G8241 the same as your second picture.
I want to restore it to original condition but cant find a schematic for it anywhere.
I notice Josh has posted photos and specs on vintage radio but no circuit diag or schematics.
Would love to get my hands on some original docs as some of the old black waxies are now nothing but a pile of black goop on the inside base of the unit.
I put my multimeter across the pile of black goop and reading comes up as “Fat Chance Buddy” so really need some written information.
Hopefully someone I have emailed at AWA can tell me something.
Surely all their original documents should be in a national archive somewhere.
Mine is number 367 so I imagine they produced and serviced a few of these and must be some technical data stored somewhere
It really saddens me to think that type of history could be just gone or thrown away but I honestly suspect that it hasn’t been.

I have 2 now so I would not be interested and Unfortunatley they are not worth very much, Ebay is still the safest place to sell.
